Sandra is an experienced workshop leader and development consultant who has worked with a wide range of non-profit organizations throughout BC.  She worked in the performing arts industry for over thirty years specializing in marketing, fundraising, strategic planning and organizational development.

Originally from Prince George, Sandra worked with The Manitoba Theatre Workshop, The Banff Centre, Alberta Culture, Festival Concerts Society and The Vancouver East Cultural Centre. In 1990 she moved to Nanaimo to become the Development Officer for the non-profit society that was formed by the City of Nanaimo to design and build the 800 seat performing arts theatre on the waterfront in the heart of downtown Nanaimo.  She was responsible for creating and implementing the strategic plan to accomplish this major community development project.  The theatre opened in 1998 following a successful capital campaign that raised $13.1 million.  Sandra then developed the annual giving, sponsorship, membership and endowment fund campaigns.  In 2001 Sandra was appointed General Manager, a position she held for five years. Under her leadership The Port Theatre was the recipient of CAPACOA'S  2003-04  Presenter of the Year award and the  BC Touring Council's 2005-06 Presenter of the Year award.  In 2006 Sandra implemented a succession planning process for The Port Theatre which saw her assume the part-time position of Director of Programming and Development until her retirement in 2010.

For over thirty years Sandra has served on many boards and committees. She was President of the Canadian Arts Presenters Association (CAPACOA), President of the Mount Benson Seniors Housing Society and Treasurer of the Made in BC Dance On Tour Society. She currently serves on the Board of Arts Consultants Canada Association and the Board of Canadian Friends of Oaxaca.

In April 2011 Sandra received the BC Touring Council's Performing Arts Touring Award of Excellence. In May 2011 Sandra received the City of Nanaimo's Honour in Culture Award.

Sandra is available in person from April 15 - October 15 as a workshop leader and planning retreat facilitator. She is available year round for workshops via skype/webinar.
